Sharp Industries made its start in the year 1980 in Jalandhar City, Punjab under the banner of DELCO Batteries. The first brands to be introduced were DISCO and AMBER. Both these brands were very successful and are selling in the market till date. Tip Top was another brand that was introduced to cater the market of North West of Punjab.

The year 1990 proved to be the turning point when DELCO Batteries was dissolved and VEE KAY Battery house was started. The introduction of SHARP & SAYNO brands was the highlight of the time because of its unmatched quality and reliability. Ever since its launch, the SHARP brand has proved to be a tremendous success and is still the highest selling product among our vast range of products.

By 1996, the name "SHARP" had gained so much recognition that the company SHARP Industries was started and all operations relating to the SHARP brand of batteries was brought under its banner.

In 2000, VEE KAY Battery house became the regional agents for Punjab State for DELKOR maintenance free batteries manufactured by Daewoo Corporation in Korea. VEE KAY BatteryHouse achieved the highest sales in all India for DELKOR Batteries.

In mid 2002, SHARP Industries decided to go high-tech and set up a unit for manufacturing Sealed Batteries. A lead oxide production plant was also setup to manufacture battery plates of the highest quality, durability and reliability.

To enhance the quality of its batteries Sharp Group of Industries began the manufacturing of Separators in the dawn 2003.
